Just Thinking…

This week has been hard for people. I'm not sure why this week in particular has been difficult, and it may just be my own contact with a small subset of people, but it seems to be a 'struggle-week'. It reminds me of a prayer that I have often found helpful:

"Dear Lord
So far today, I've been doing all right.
I haven't gossiped, lost my temper, been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish or self-indulgent. I have not whined, complained, cursed or eaten any chocolate. I have charged nothing on my credit card.
But I will be getting out of bed in a minute, and I think that I will really need your help then.

Other prayers that may be helpful:

"Dear Lord
Please don't let my husband be home when all my online orders arrive.

Or, how about the 'Senility Prayer'? (not to be confused with the 'Serenity Prayer'!)
"Lord, grant me the senility to forget those people I never liked anyway.
The good fortune to run into those people I do like.
And the eye-sight to tell the difference."

"Dear God
My prayer for this week is a fat bank account and a thin body.
But please don't mix them up like you did last week!

Sometimes, I think, it's just good to laugh!

In Him,

This Sunday…

Get your biscuit and a cup of coffee and sit down for a Zoom chit-chat with others! Catch up on others' weeks, talk about whatever, leave whenever you wish, enjoy some fellowship!

The young people are also invited to this, and then will have a 'break-out' Ignite youth meeting using the same zoom link, which Matt will organise.
