Just Thinking…

I had to chuckle when I read of the Rangitīkei woman, Linda, who tried to sell her husband, John, on TradeMe recently, when he decided on the spur of the moment to leave his good lady with the kids (it being school holidays!) to pop off for a fishing trip for a few days. She was not impressed and decided to list him ... he actually ended up with a bid for $100 before the powers-that-be took the listing down. He could have gone for more, but his wife was probably a bit too honest. “Any vices?” one person asked. Linda replied: “Extremely fond of lengthy pasture and or weather conversations (him being a farmer); generally of a Friday evening, involving a sturdy focus on hydration. Also suffers from socks-on-the-floor-itus, which I have found to be contagious to younger models and unfortunately reoccurring.”
It was all a bit of fun, but it does prompt the question ... how valuable are we to each other? Maybe not in money terms ... but what about time? Or effort? Do our lives intersect briefly and bounce off, or is there an intermeshing that grows over time? Grab some inspiration from Paul, who says: 'Be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves.' (Romans 12:10)

In Him,
