Just Thinking…
This week we begin our yearly Prayer and Self-Denial journey. The aim of the next three weeks is to raise awareness of our Baptist missionaries overseas so that we might support them in prayer and raise money to help them as they continue to function as our agents in places that most of us will probably never go to. It is called Prayer and Self-Denial because it is a call firstly to pray. There will be information given out about the lives and ministries of our missionaries and the people they are in contact with. Take the information that is given and let it not just stay lodged in your short-term memory, but turn it into prayer as we seek God's favour for these people. Secondly, it is called Self-Denial. Denying ourselves is a practice that most of us aren't too familiar with - perhaps the journey of Lent may be the closest that some of us come to it. Well, consider it a challenge! Are there things you can remove for your life for a while to free up either money to contribute, or time to pray? It might be an instructive exercise! In three Sundays time (24 June) we will be collecting all the money raised in our morning service, but feel free to drop money off either before or after that date if it is more convenient.
In Him,
Murray
